Our linux server is suddenly giving “maximum allowe threads used” error. looks familiar to anyone??
here’s what happened,
we have 2 domino servers one linux box and the other windows 2000 both were running R5 and working fine, they replicate very so often. We recently updated win2K box with R6.5 and everything is fine on that box but the linux box started going down. It gives an error saying its running out of server threads.
Not sure whats causing this error.
If we restart the linux box, it works fine for couple of hours and then dies again with the same error.
Did you perserve the design elements on the R5 Linux box so no 6.5 design elements went to it? There is not much specificity, but if you upgraded the W2K box to 6.5 the domino directory could be at an inappropriate code for R5 to use.
In a mixed environment I would be cautious to make sure each server have editor access to each other design of the core server databases. Otherwise it could cause problems.
What happens if you have the R5 box up without any replication. Start the R5 linux box after a clean startup, but turn off the replica task. How long does the server far now? I would make sure that the R5 box has its core dbs at their R5 templates.
That would be first recommendation as a place to start.
