Subject: All items returned by search are selected
“If I have a lot of items it takes too long to deselect them manually so I cant delete a single item”
You just want to delete 1 document after you did the search?
(1) You could open the document and hit delete.
(2) After you did the search copy everything selected into a folder. Then folder has all the documents for the search and you just delete the one you want to wipe out.
Subject: All items returned by search are selected
When the search is performed in notes, the records that meet the criteria are selected and that is how the view knows which to show as results.
There aren’t really any alternatives for showing search results in a view that I know of - especially if the search is done ad hoc. If it is the same search every time, consider creating a view specifically for the search and then the records there wont be selected.
1- Do your search.2- Click once on the choice you want to delete. (just selecting it).
3- “Clear Results”.
( This will cancel your search and all items in view will be visible again, with nothing ‘selected’. Yet, the item you had clicked will still be targeted. )
Maybe your view won’t be focussed on it but it’s still targeted. Click twice in the left margin to check and uncheck a document. This will focus on the actual view without un-targeting the searched document.
Press the arrow up on your keyboard target the document above. The will focus your view on it. Then press back down to get back on the document you had innitially selected.
I’m sorry if all this sounds messy… it’s nothing technical in anyway. Just a litle trick I’m used to do in similar situations… It takes about 1½ seconds to do…
