Aliases and lotusscript

All,

I always thought it was a good idea to use aliases in radiobutton/checkbox fields but this is proving me wrong. I have a form in which I have around 50 radio button fields. Now my client has requested me to generate an excel report for the submitted data. My problem is that doc.Field(0) for the radiobutton fields is giving me values like 1,2,3,4 etc and not the actual value. My client wants to see the actual values. Is “If statement” for all the 50 fields my only option here? I’m sure there has to be another way to do this.

TIA,

Ki

Tony,

You got it. That’s the drawback. Ditto for displaying in views.

The upside is that the customer can change wording all they want and it won’t ruin the existing data, assuming the meaning is the same and just the language is changing.

Do you mean there is no way around? I have to write an if statement for all the fields.

Thanks,

Ki

You’ll have to use some sort of lookup. I would probably use a LotusScript List so I could just look up the values, but I’m rather lazy.

Does anyone have a solution for this? I’m having the same problem…Thanks!
