I know there are a great deal of posts regarding the infamous “Note item not found”, however I have not found a solution to this particular problem.
I am trying to use the alcsbox.ntf as a template for on of our mail databases. I have heard that this is better than using the iNotes6.ntf because if someone replies to an incoming message, you can specify that particular mailbox’s address as the recipient rather than the owner of the mail file and it currently is in the iNotes6.ntf. I noticed that when I opened all views other than the trash, I would get the “Note item not found” error. In designer, I found that ($SoftDeletions) had an alias, whereas the others did not, so I gave the other views aliases, and this stopped the error. I figured maybe there was something being compued in a column that was looking at the view alias, however I do not see anything.
Then I removed the aliases, and still no error! I deleted chache.ndf to ensure that this was not a caching issue, and still no errors.
Even though this works, it will not work on all of the folders already created in the database that will be using this new design, unless I give them all aliases as well, and even then, new folders will have the same problem. Also, why would this solution even work?
