I have user who has enabled a monthly reminder alarm, and with this alarm, under alarm notification options, he has chosen to ‘send mail notification with subject’.
This month the email notification did not execute. I told him that sometimes alarms need to be reset by disabling and re-enabling them, but he confirmed that his other alarms are working. The final thing I mentioned is that if his notes client was closed, it wouldn’t execute the sending of email—this alarm is scheduled for 6 am. This person does get to work early, so most months his Notes client would be opened and it would execute. On this particular day, however, the client was closed, which confirms for me that the sendmail piece of an alarm notification will only work with the client open.
Is that true? Can someone confirm it for me?
