AJAX setRequestHeader question

Hi folks,

I got this code for changing a field´s value of a notesdocument, which is displayed in a CMS html template.

the function addfrase() is called everytime a new value is added to this notesdocument field.

i had changed a little bit the postAsync function from loadxml.js to fit my needs.

as you can see in the setRequestHeader i do set it for using charset ISO-8859-1. but its kinda not working…

because whenever i use special chars they are displayed like:

“Malandro é o gato que já nasce de bigode.”

before using AJAX for this task, i was using the form action method post, and it worked just fine, showing:

“Malandro é o gato que já nasce de bigode.”

there is something im missing or doing wrong? isnt this requestheader responsable of how chars will be displayed?

any tip? TIA !

EDIT 1 : i set there iso-8859-1 for the xml http request, but somehow shouldn i set it to the response too?

i mean … the request uses iso-8859-1 , but the response gets the charset from the request, or it should be told what charset to use?

TIA

First, read this to get a better understanding of charsets:http://www.codestore.net/store.nsf/unid/HUMR-6AASZV?OpenDocument

Then try using UTF-8 instead of ISO-8859-1.
