Agents quit working

Some Out of Office and all Forwarding agents quit working. Working fine one day and quit the next. Nothing in logs. Turned on monitoring and get the message : You do not have a mail/file server specified … Any ideas?? All mail being sent and received. Only recent changes were to hosts file and FQDN.

I’ve seen the “you don not have a mail file/server specified” error under R5. If I remember correctly there was a technote explaining the problem but I forget the details now.

A quick server restart always sorted it out in R5.
