Agent With User Interaction

I have a database where the administrator occasionally has the need to change the value of an item in all existing documents (due to employee changes). In the past, I have created an agent that use a simple @If(Owner = previousEmployeeName; @SetField(“itemInQuestion”; newEmployeeName); “”). It works well but now I’d like to provide a solution that is “self-served”.

As such, I was thinking again of an agent that prompts the user for the previousEmployeeName, and then prompts for the newEmployeeName once and then runs the @SetField(“itemInQuestion”; newEmployeeName); “”). However, my agent is producing the prompts for each document that matches the SELECTion criteria rather than once. Can I do this with formula language without prompting the user more than once?

Dave,

you can do it with lotus script, then build a search of the documents and then user a stampall to update them.

you could also use two agents in formula launguage to get the values, set them in enviroment variables, then then the next agent uses those environment variables to update the documents.

Very clever John. Thanks a bunch - it’s working quite well.
