Agent finding cluster member information

I have been looking for a while now on the Notes 4 and 5 forum and the Notes 6 and 7 forum, but to no avail.

I am trying to write an agent that can find all members of a cluster. This agent is triggered by an incoming url and it should run another agent on all servers in the same cluster (as the database is it running on).

This is to avoid hardcoding all servernames in the cluster. I hope I have made my problem clear.

Subject: Another option…

…is to send the console command !show cluster -xml as a remote console command from Lotusscript and parse the resulting xml string. This requires that the agent has proper rights of course and doesn’t work in R5 (only R6 and higher), but gives you addtl. live runtime information about the state of the other available clustermates, availability, etc.

Sample output:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

Can you agent not perform a lookup to the domino directoy

Find the server, find it’s cluser name and then look at the $cluster view to find that clustername and the other servers within that cluster?

Just a thought

I guess I will have to do that - thanks!
