I have an agent in a database that I can see running from Domino Administrator but I am unable to see the design in Designer. How do I make the design of this agent visible?

If I remember correctly a trick that used to work would be to create a new private view or private agent in the database and then other hidden / private design elements automatically appeared.
If this doesn’t work you can download a utility from our website that scans databases for agents (both hidden & visible) and logs them enabling you to perform maintenance tasks on them from the Notes client (designer not required!). It can be downloaded from:

I created another private agent and the hidden agent did magically appear.

This is from the help… if you didn’t create the database, you may want to check and see if the design is hidden. If it is, you will have to replace the design from a template. More details in the Designer Help database.
To hide the design of a database
This procedure assumes you’re hiding the design of a database that inherits from a template. Thoroughly review, debug, and test the template before proceeding.
-
Create a new database based on the template.
-
After the database is created, select the new database and choose File Database Replace Design.
-
From the list of templates displayed in the dialog box, choose the template from which the selected database inherits its design.
-
Check both “Inherit future design changes” and “Hide formulas and LotusScript.”
-
Click Replace and Yes to confirm
