After Upgrading from Notes 9.0.1FP6 to FP7 no location available

Hello,

after upgrading the notes client (on Windows 7) from 9.0.1FP6 to 9.0.1 FP7 we have the problem that no location is chosen after the notes client has finished starting and no mails can be sent. When shutting down the client and restarting it, everything works fine. This error is reproducable. Server: Domino 9.0.1FP6HF130 Windows 2012R2 std. server

In the IBM Knowledge Center (https://www.ibm. com/support/knowledgecenter/SSKTWP_9.0.1/com.ibm.notes901.help. doc/locacc_loc_network_notes_t.html) it says: “IBM® Notes® configures your Online (LAN) Location document automatically and sets it as the default location when you start Notes while connected to a LAN, including when you have specified that you have Internet mail.”

But it doesn’t anymore after upgrading to FP7.

Has anyone experienced this problem?

Thank you and best regards

Subject: I’ve run into this problem on past installs

In my case it was an indication the user’s selected location profile had an unexpected name. At some point someone had removed the “(Network)” part of the name, and in my case the attempt to refresh locations with additional information failed.

I’ve also seen on other systems that if the contacts DB design was not up to date, there were numerous failures to update some of the standard location information.

In only one instance – the contacts DB was corrupt & required a fixup.
