Hi,
I try to configure ADSync on the AD users console :
but have this message :
“you must specify Lotus Notes Domino Server”
So I enter the password of the Domino Server with its IDs but have this second message :
“Initializing Lotus ADSync: The selected Notes server is currently unavailable. Notes returns this error : the server is not responding…”
OK. In fact, I just discovered the name of the server I copy / paste is truncated to 26 character,
SERVERNAME/SERVEUR/COMPANY
==>
SERVERNAME/SERVEUR/COMPAN
So Notes can’t find the server.
Have you a patch ?
Thanks.

I’m not sure if that’s a problem with ADSync or the type of Windows widget being used, but it looks like whatever characters will fit into the visible part of the text box are the only characters that it will use. Using lowercase works, and you can also use the IP address.

I don’t know how ADSync was coded (call UI window function or otherly…) but the box trunc the server name.I’ll try IP adress but didn’t work too.
I can’t try immediatly lowercase but i’m sceptic.
Now I found another server wich the name is less longer. So I’ll push the information to the target server.
So, now the synchronization work at 99%. The User Password of AD is not synchronised with HTTPPassword field / or dspHTTPPassword field.
Do you know why and have a solution ?
Thanks again.

The passwords are not synchronized via ADSync. You have the option as the admin to set a common password, but as I explained in a prior post, this is not a practical solution. You will need to use a combination of a Security policy and Notes Single Login or a separate product like Tivoli Directory Integrator.
