Hello,
I’m trying to install Adsync on my XP workstation. I have administrative rights on the workstation and on the domain. I installed notes administrator. When I execute the command “regsvr32 nadsync.dll”, I get the error “Access is denied.” in a windows entiteled “Lotus ADSync”.
Did somebody have this problem before? Does somebody know what access is denied?
Thank You

Subject: Enterprise Administrator rights
I found it necessary to be logged on to Windows 2000 as an user with membership of a group having Enterprise Administrator rights in order to successfully register adsync.dll. After that, only Domain Administrator rights were necessary to manage synchronisation. In addition Service Pack 2 was applied to prevent a spurious dll not registered message. My guess is that since you can manage users etc. in Domino across multiple domains, a higher authority than a single domain administrator is required to register such a tool with Active Directory.

For USE and REGISTER nadsync.dll, you must be member of the group “Enterprise Administrator”-X-

First you must be joined to a domain, and logged into the machine with an account who has read/write access to AD.
Secondly, XP does not ship with the proper MMC console snap-ins that are present server skus. You’ll have to install the win2000 admin pack to get those.
Once you have that installed, you should be able to register the nadsync.dll with no problem

Here is how to install the adminpak.msi
To install the Active Directory Schema snap-in
Log on as Administrator.
Insert the Windows 2000 Server compact disc into your compact disc drive, and then click Browse this CD.
Double-click the I386 folder, double-click Adminpak, and then follow the instructions that appear in the Windows 2000 Administration Tools Setup wizard.
Then open up the mmc console, and now you can add the AD snap-ins.
