AdminP & Name Change Process Broken

Were having an issue with AdminP completing name change requests. Were running domino 6.5.1 on an as400 (V5R3)A user can request a name change via the notes client & it is sent to the admin. The admin then certifies the new name, and the user accepts it.

Then it stops.

AdminP has a note to rename the person in the Domino Directory and that is completed.

It does not go on to change the name in ACL’s or DB Records.

There is not a note in the adminp database to rename the user in ACL’s or DB Records(reader/author/name fields)

I checked the ACL of ADMINP and the default is to Author, with Create Documents & Replicate checked.

I also issued the command: Tell adminp process all

on the console, and no change.

suggestions?

Can you confirm with user if user did get the prompt to accept new name & then accepted it, check users ID properties too

Rename in ACL is created once users accepts the name

Rename in Access Control List

Triggered by: Completion of the “Rename person in Address Book” request.

Carried out on: Each server in the domain.

Carried out: According to the “Interval” setting for the Administration Process in the Server document.

Result: Each server in the domain updates the person’s name in ACLs of databases for which it is an administration server.

the name change is accepted by the user. The users’s id gets the new name & the address book processes the new name ( changing their entry in the nab)

the acl’s on the databases do not change…

What is the event that is created called in AdminP that triggers that?

In the Domino Administrator under the Files tab, click the “All” button so that the full database listing is shown.

Select all the databases and then right click, choose Access Control, then Manage.

Click Modify and enter in the old and new names.

When you choose OK it will run through all the selected databases making the name change should it be required.

It might be a good idea to enable Full Access Administration to ensure that all databases are updated accordingly.

You also want to make sure that all databases has the correct Administration server defined so that name changes in both acl and documents for all databases get changed.

Use a tool like DomainPatrol (You can use it for free), that makes the task easy.
