Adminp didn't complete the rename process

I submitted a move in Hierarchy and accepted the change in the adminp database.

I don’t think to check on it until 3 weeks later when the user calls saying they can no longer get into databases. I check the adminp database and the last entry I see for the user name change process is “Initiate Rename in Domino Directory”. I also looked at an old copy of the Domino Directory and I see the “Pending” status on the user document.

I verified that the user uses the client and not iNotes. I know that renames don’t work with iNotes because there is not an authentication to the Domino Directory.

We are currently using Domino 8.0.2 on the Admin server and the mail servers.

I have seen this a couple of times over the last several months. I think it is intermittent in that we don’t have a lot of name changes and I have not been paying that close of attention until the last two that happened this month.

Has anyone come across this issue?

Subject: Hi

Rename is a bit tricky sometimes. Does the user have the double usernames in the directory?

Sometimes the user needs to accept a change in the ECL if that’s not set it up right. I would check if the ECL allows the administrator to change everything in the client for the user.

I am guessing the pop up showed up and the user declined it.

Subject: maybe

maybe that databases this user can’t access have improper ACL setting on last tab?If they have default “do not modify Names fields”, then the names in ACL and documents was not changed, and user lost access… that’s the way IBM do that, I don’t know why:) {I always change the default to “Modify all Names fields” …
