Administrator Access

Two questions:1. Is the use of an Admin access control group supported with reference to Server, Security, Administrators settings? I recently moved the entry from ‘Administrators’ to ‘Full Access Administrators’ and weird stuff started happening.

I rename several logging files including log.nsf during a weekly reboot-server-process and immediately following the Administrator change, Admin group no longer was listed in the ACL of log.nsf. Using NLNOTES.EXE I modified the ACL but the next week Admin Group was missing again.

  1. When a new file is built at server startup, is the ACL rebuilt by reading the server doc or is it copied from another file?

Subject: ACLs built from bracketed entries in template ACL

if you add your Admin group to the ACL of log.ntf as “[LocalDomainAdmins]” (for example; quotes mine) with the desired level of access, the group name, minus brackets, will be added to any databases created from the template, saving you some future frustration.
