Hi , We recently change the organizational unit of some old user to new organizational unit
eg. susanh/abc/USA
to
sunsanh/abc/England
I want to know if the public key of the user in person document in the names.nsf changes “automatically” or u have to do "manually ". If i have to change it manually is there any way through which i change the public key in the person document automatically through admin process
Bez i am getting this public key missing errror on the server console . If i manually go and change the public key in the person document it does not shows this error .
Any help
Mike

Mike,
There are a number of things that need to be in place. When changing the O level certifier, you are truely changing the keys in the user’s public address book entry. I would hope that you have specified the administration in the Public Address book and that the user has accessed thier home server.
If the client level is 6.X, the rename should be processed immediately. If the user is on a 5.X or lower, they are prompted to accept the rename. Now this is where things get tricky.
Generally the administration requests database only holds the rename information for about 7 days. After this time the request documents are purged. You can find this out by looking at the replication settings for admin4.nsf. The server will honor the old ID for a period of 21 days (default setting unless changed) and after that time, the old ID will not work. The rename process is quite a challenge, if you do not have applications set with administration servers.
I work with a company that helps provide a tool to ease the adminstration levels of a rename process. At this point you are not likely sure if the user has accepted the new name or not and you will need to start digging into the Admin4.nsf database to find out. Feel free to contact me at hiltzy@yahoo.com and I would be happy to help you out.

The key should be updated at the same time the new name is put in the FullName field on the person document (when the admin server processes the “Initiate Rename in Domino Directory” admin request).
What is the exact error message you’re getting? “Missing public key” ? is this when the user tries to access the server?
