Addressbook ANYONE?

Handful of users can’t use the address picker in their Personal Address Books for some letters. (i.e. select “R” get all names under “V”). Followed the post here about deleting the Full Text Index & then going into Tools Preferences, but that did not work as their nabs are not full text indexed.

Any suggestions??? I’ve done replace design, compact, fixup, updall, deleted & re-added the entries to no avail. We replicate address books here for backup purposes and the same thing happens in the replica.

Checked the view and it is correct. Even deleted it & replaced with one from template.

Does not happen to everyone & those it does happen to it happens with different letters.

If it doesn’t happen with everyone, then it may be a workstation setup issue. Make sure they are using a standard language and keyboard configuration. If they are not, then that could cause some issues.

When you try to access the offending personal NAB, does it happen to you?

Yes it happens to me when I open the replica copy of the addressbook. And if another user logs in on that workstation (we use multi-user installs here) that user’s addressbook is fine so don’t think it can be language or keyboard config.

I’m stumped.

You may want to look at what the view is actually displaying. I’m thinking that there is a value in the first column (could be hidden) that is causing this issue. Then the fault would lie with the document rather than the design.

Check in the design of the view on one of these databases. Make sure that the correct value is what is being pulled into the first column.

Does everyone have the same problem when accessing one of these address books? Or does the same user experience the same issue on other address books?
