Address lookup issue

We are having an issue with address lookup that are really a showstopper in rolling out the notes 8.0.1 standard client here (same happens to basic client). When trying to address a memo, it seems to only look in my personal address book if there’s a match for the name or part of the name I type. To get it to search in the server addressbook, I have to key down to “Search directory for ‘name’”. This is really annoying. If I hit F9 or comma, it will use the one in my local addressbook also, except if there’s no match in my local addressbook it will search server addressbook.

My location document settings is as follows:

  • Recipient name type-ahead: Local then server

  • Activate recipient name type-ahead: On each character

  • Recipient name lookup: Exhaustively check all address books

Can anyone please help?

Subject: workaround - but not a solution

Hi, if I create a Mobile Directory and replicate it locally, then add it in File - Preferences - Mail - Sending and Receiving- Lokal Address books, it will look up all Internal members. But if we had additional address books for lookup…I also found in File - Preferences - Basic Notes Client Configuration - Additional Options - “Disable type-ahead for all name fields and use the Notes type-ahead”. But it made no diffrence - still only looking in the local address book.

I read somewhere, that the 8.01 design of the personal address book solved the issue, so I will give it a try. Right now I have 8.5 design. Regs’ Jytte

Subject: Any other solution?

Hi all,

We have the exact issue also at 8.02 Standard Clients which has disabled the recent contacts feature. Is there someone who found a reason/solution for this behaviour of notes apart from the suggested workaround?

Regards

Benjamin

Subject: same issue - did you find a solution?

Subject: Unfortunately, no!

No have not found a solution yet. We’re still very frustrated about notes 8.x address lookup stuff. Anyone else had any luck with this?
