Address groups

We have thousands of address groups in the NAB. We are trying to do some clean-up. Any tricks or utilities that can help us identify which groups are actually being used? I’m sure many of them are obsolete, I just don’t know how to identify which ones.

Subject: Address groups

There are some 3rd party tools which you could run against your databases which might help you locate groups which are no longer in any ACLs.

I’m in the same conundrum in my own environment and trying to eliminate groups no longer used.

Some Tips:

  • Make a NEW COPY Backup of your Domino Directory before you start deleting groups.

  • When you delete, don’t just select and press DEL on your keyboard. Select and use the DELETE GROUPS button.

This way, if you delete a group, you can copy and paste it back into your domino directory, but you might have to tap into AdminP to remove any pending deletes for those groups as well as add them back to the ACL on databases which required those groups.
