Address Book Issue

Hi All

I have a user who needs two other users to access their personnel address book, I have put a copy of the address book on the server so the two other users can access it which works fine. But it the user goes into their mailbox and creates a new mail and click on address it will not bring up the address book from the server it will only let you see the address book on the local machine or network drive

Local Address Book can be either

C:\Program Files\lotus\notes\data\names.nsf

Or

H(Server Name):\notes\data\names.nsf

Server Address Book

Address book is stored in the same location as mailboxes on our server

********/mail/address_book/user_name/names.nsf

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Noel Simon

Subject: Address Book Issue

what about putting it in the root of the data directory with a different filename and referencing it in preferences as

names.nsf, names1.nsf

Haven’t tried it but I would think that would work

Have you put a copy or replica on the server? If you replicate the local names.nsf to the server then they will stay in synch so no need to actually access the server copy as long as scheduled replication is enabled.

If you don’t want to replicate the actual names.nsf, create a new address book and replicate that to the server and specify it in the User Preferences as previous post suggests
