Additional server setup fails on Linux

Hello there

I’m running Virtualbox 1.6.0 top of Mandriva 2008.1. Under VB I have created three virtual wkst. One Windows XP with latests servicepacks for all 8.0 clients and two Mandriva 2008.1 wkst for HUB -server and MAIL -server.

I’m using trial version of Lotus Domino 8.0.

I know that this combination is out of the all specs, but it still seems to work fine, until I was installing my first additional server (mail), hub -server was running at the sametime fine.

I have tried that from my virtual XP wkst remotely and straight from that mail server.

Nothing helps.

Every time that setups stops after it has done 10% to error message “Cannot create or write file (file or disk is read only)”.

Have someone any ideas how to resolve this?

Hi Pertti,

Have you confirmed that the UID/GID that is running the Domino process has write permission to the data directory?

Hi Dan

Thanks for your help. You were indeed on the right track. Even though UID/GID (notes/notes) had needed read/write access on the top level ,and even deeper, (local/notesdata) there were still some files and directories which owner was root -account.

Funny thing was that I installed that hub -server OS and Domino at the same way, so possibly only reason in my case was then that unsupported platform I think.
