I created a new installation transform file and added some files to the 7.0.2 client installation using Installshield Tuner for Lotus Notes 6.
The customized installation failed with a file error.
After examination, the cab file did indeed miss some files I added during the transform process. Also the newly created cab file was exactly 30.000.000 bytes in size, its name had a ‘0’ added at the end, these two things to me indicated that there had to be another cab file. A second cab file however was not present in the original nor in the customize folder.
After a search of the C:\ drive a second cab file revealed itself, in the C:\Documents and Settings<user>\Local Settings\Temp\ folder! this cab file had a ‘1’ added to the filename and contained the remainder of the files. After copying this file to the custom installation directory the installation finished as expected.
You will however do the following extra actions:
Examine and write down the files that are in each cabinet file created.
then you have to edit the transform file again with the Direct Editor.
Goto the ‘File’ table and check the last column (Sequence)
write down the sequence number for the last file of each cabinet (highest number).
Then goto table ‘Media’ and add a new record for each cabinet that is not yet available ( in my case only one). Edit the ‘LastSequence’ column for ALL custom cabinets to reflect the highest numbers you just found in the ‘File’ table.
