I am trying to modify an existing template to include the ability for soft delete. It was based on the STDR50WebDocLib template. Have checked Allow soft delete, enter # of hours, go to create a New view, but there is no option to create the Shared, contains deleted documents view type. What can i do to make this option appear?

How about copying and modifying the ($SoftDeletions) view from the mail template? (Interesting: it doesn’t have a selection formula.)
Subject: Solved - No it is the ODS level of the Template.
I have already tried copying from the R6 document lib template - since that is closer in design. It does not work. It appears to be the ODS level - a database created from the template (ODS 43) will allow me to create a view Shared, contains deleted, but the template (ODS 20) will not.
All of our templates that were not new with R6 are at ODS 20 - i am thinking they all need to be compacted.

NTFs will be ODS 20 unless they were compacted as NSFs then renamed at the OS level.
