Since our upgrade of our servers and clients to 8.5.1 the “Add Sender to Contacts” gives us an error. It goes to the Add Sender to Contacts screen showing us the correct into to add but when you hit OK it it just puts up a screeen saying “Operation Failed”.
Any suggestions on how to correct this problem?
TIA
Subject: “Operation Failed” error
This happens on a message where the sender’s name is in RFC 822 format (e.g.: “John Smith” jsmith@acme.com ) . The double-quotes in the name cause the problem. The workaround is to de-select the option “Include x.509 Certificates when encountered” when using Add Sender to Contacts if the name is an RFC 822 format.
We have fixed this in the 8.5.2 Release.
Subject: Any workaround to get internet-certifiacte in the contact?
Is there any workaround to get internet-certifiacte from the external sender in the contact?
Subject: sorry there is no easy “workaround”; there is a bug in the agent that needed to be fixed
Subject: I found two possible workarounds
If sender could change his address-format so he doesn’t send with friedly name then you can import the certificate with using the x509 option.
Second way is that you have a file of the certificate of the sender. Then you can add the contact without the x509 option and then edit the contact and with “actions - certificate - import internet certificate” you can add the certificate afterwards.
