I have a web application with java applet action bar. The action bar doesn’t display for some users (they see a grey bar with no error). I compared the internet options and JVM between with a PC that works. All Internet options and JVM are the same. Is there anything else I should look at?
Hi Rishi, Thanks for your response. But, I have compared the Internet options and they are the same as the pc that works. What option should I look into? Again, thanks for your help.
Subject: Did the user answer “No” when originally prompted to download the java applet?
That’s the biggest problem with using the java applet versions of the action bar, view, outline, RTF, etc: the fact that the user has to approve the download of the applet signed by IBM – and in this day and age, more and more users have enough security savvy to be wary of downloading anything they don’t expect.
When this happens, the user’s local browser file caches need to be cleared, at which point they’ll be prompted again. If they answer affirmatively at that point, they’ll get the applet.
