Hi Experts,

Can anyone please help me with the below questions…

1.If a person is in the ACL in 2 groups, which takes precedence, the group with higher or lower access?

2.If a person is in the ACL as both an individual and in a group, which takes precedence?

Any comments/suggestion would be highly appreciated

1.If a person is in the ACL in 2 groups, which takes precedence, the group with higher or lower access?

  • The higher level of access will take precedence

2.If a person is in the ACL as both an individual and in a group, which takes precedence?

  • Individual name (explicit) will take precedence.

Additional note - Full Admin Access overrides ACL entries.

To add to Kristy’s answer to address the Roles aspect …

If a person is in the ACL in 2 groups, which takes precedence, the group with higher or lower access?

  • The higher level of access will take precedence

However, the user will get all roles that these groups have.

So if one group has [A] and the other [B], the user gets both [A] and [B]

2.If a person is in the ACL as both an individual and in a group, which takes precedence?

  • Individual name (explicit) will take precedence.

And the user will NOT get any roles that the groups have. They will get any roles that the user ACL entry has.
