I had to change an access control list (ACL) to a database so that some forms were restricted and others weren’t (thus I changed users from Editor to Author in the ACL).
I have added the Authors field (with the names coming in in the CN format) and refreshed the documents that I want the Authors to have access to. At present, they are able to create, edit, and save said documents.
Only problem is, folks can’t seem to attach documents into a designated Rich Text Lite field. The Limits to the field are the same as before (Attachments) and Security Options to the field are set to none.
Any ideas why people aren’t able to attach a file to a Rich Text Lite field as Authors, but were able to as Editors? How can I fix this problem so that people can attach documents again, without restoring everyone as Editor?

By default, the database opens to a Frameset. The form I’m having issues with opens in a new window. Neither aspect has been altered since I moved the users from Editor to Author.

I have also tried changing the attachment field from a Rich Text Lite field to a Rich Text field, and adding a separate hotspot button with the attachment function. Still no luck.

I’ve determined that contrary to what some users had reported, this is more than just an attachment issue, but rather an issue with the authors field. I’ve tried making the authors field, which pulls in usernames in the CN=/OU=/O= format, computed and computed when composed, but no luck. I’ve also tried setting the value of the field to just be my ID in said format again without luck.
