Hi everyone. We have lotus notes databases for keeping client information.
Recently, we have decided to allow some clients to access some of their info from the web.
They will get a username and password and will login to view their info.
The problem is that we cannot create entries in the notes address book for all of our clients because of license considerations.
From what I understood, the amount we pay for license depends on the number of certified persons in the address book.
My first question is about the license… is it really calculated according to the number of certified persons in the address book?
And if yes, is there a way to get around this?
Is it possible to create a separate address book, use the usernames and logins in there for authentication on the web without adding to the license fee?
I’m sure many of you have had similar stuff to do, so could give me a few links or pointers to achieve this please.
PS: we have tried to create an address book using the notes address book template and use it for web authentication but we were unsuccessful. Is there something we are doing wrong or is it just impossible to do?
