Accessing the (server) mail/calender DB with blocking the GUI (VB6)

Hello,

I do retrieve calendar items from then using Visual Basic 6 and Lotus Notes 6.5.1.

This works fine.

But when the mail/calender DB is located at a server, Lotus Notes is blocked while I retrieve the calendar items from Notes and the hourglass is shown in the status bar of notes.

And gathering all notes calender item may take minutes, especially when the db is on a a server.

I have seen other programs retrieving the calendar item from notes without blocking it.

Is this a problem when using Visual Basic? Or is there a solution for that.
