Hi all, Recently I upgraded my notes mail database to 8.5 design. I saw many features included when I logged in through Web (IE6.0). I read in the document that I can logon to sametime server but I have to enable it. When I searched in the help, it asked me to enable it under preferences. But there is no option for that under preferences tab. How can I do this?

I had the same issue. I didn’t need to adjust any config docs on our mail servers, as they were correct prior to upgrading to Domino 8.5.1
I closed down my browser windows and cleared my IE and FireFox Cache and temp Internet Files etc. Did the same in my Java Control Panel on the General Tab (Temp Internet Files), then restarted my browser and I had the option to “Enable Instant Messaging” in my iNotes Preferences.

Subject: I’ve the same problem
I’ve the same problem, too. All settings in the server-configuration are okay. But I can’t see the option in my iNotes-Client for enable Instant Messaging.
Any help was great.

Ctrl-Click on “IBM Lotus iNotes” logo and hit Detail button shows iNotes console, which shows some hints as to what iNotes and STLinks (the applet iNotes uses for Sametime integration) do under the hood. It also includes some info as to configuration. So providing the iNotes console output would help support folks to further diagnose the problem.

Subject: Have you specified a Sametime hostname within the Lotus iNotes tab of the server configuration doc?
…otherwise the user’s person record will need to contain this information. Please verify one or the other is specified.
