Access Denied on First try when user is delegated access to another's mailbox?

Greetings,

Users in the organization that have had access to other’s calendars via delegation in the past are now getting the ‘denied access’ nasty gram on the first attempt. Click again, and it lets them in. The real problem is that I have some background scripts in a database that let folks make an entry and programatically put it on someone elses calendar. This has stopped working properly. I want to say suddenly stopped, but the users couldn’t give me a definate time when this issue started.

This issue happens whether it’s a group with delegation access or an individual user (i.e. the user gives rights via preferences, not full author rights given in the ACL).

It’s been awhile since we’ve updated the server to 7.0.2 so I don’t think the patch is the issue. Most users are on the 7.0.2 client as well, or are at least on 7. User ACL setting haven’t changed. I even checked to make sure the local workstation firewall wasn’t somehow interfering by temporarily disabling it. The only change that I’m aware of is the usual windows workstation patches that get rolled out.

Been tinkering with this for a week now and am completely stumped. Anybody have ideas? It’s got to be something simple I’m overlooking.

Alternatively, I tried setting the required agent for the failing application to run as the ‘server’ as the user, but that work around attempt didn’t do any good.

TIA.

Erik
