Hi All, We are using 2 Domino 6.5.3 server in a cluster on Rh Linux Enterprise edition 3 for 400 Notes users .Howevers we haven’t started the webmail facility as we are concerned with the security to the mail server. Some vendor suggested us a reverse proxy solution to put themail server behind a reverse proxy server and the firewall but we are quite new to all this stuff .Is there any proven IBM solution or any good product which can cater to our purpose. However the top management now require to access mail from the internet from different parts of the country as well as from abroad.
Kindly let us know if you guys can suggest a better solution .

Most of our users access their mail via the Notes Client, some using the webmail…
We have installed VPN clients on our remote user laptops\ PCs, which tunnel into our network. None of our servers are directly exposed to the internet. This means that our remote users can ONLY access the Domino servers via a company approved computer with the correct VPN details installed (I guess they could install a VPN client on another machine), which means of course, they can’t access their email from say, a public computer terminal in an airport.
We used to have an external IP which mapped to one of our Domino servers, we set the users computers to encrypt all traffic between them and the server.
But we felt we the added security of the VPN was the way to go. Plus they can get to files they require on the network, use some other ERP apps etc, just as if they were in the office.

Thanks Nick for the inputs .By the way VPN connectivity is indeed a good solution but for those executives who carry a laptop .How can we give secure webmail access to those users who still access mail from desktops and internet cafes or from their residence ?Presently we are using Citrix to give them access to their mail files but we have very limited license and users are not too much interested in logging to Citrix >then log in to the Domino web mail and the mangement is much concerned about security .
