A scheduled agent was disabled, made some changed and saved, then enable it. It’s scheduled to run once a month.
When I signed the agent by server id at any time, it run immediately.
Why? How can I avoid it without changing code?

I’ve submitted requests to Lotus/IBM to STOP THIS ANNOYING BEHAVIOR, but anytime you “sign” and agent with a server.id on the server, the agent will run, even if the agent is set to run once in 2010 on Feb 29th at 1:00am.
Replicate/copy the template local, change to th servers id and sign the agent, then replicate/copy the template back up to the server, then replace/refresh design.
The only other option that works is to “turn off” scheduled agents on the DB, sign the agent, then turn schedule agents back on for that db.
This doesn’t work 100% of the time, as sometimes AMGR kicks off the agent you just signed as soon as you turn enabled scheduled agents on the DB, but it does work SOMETIMES.

I believe this is because the ‘disabled scheduled agent’ option only works for agents that are not currently activated. So, disable the agent, check off that option, sign it and re-enable the agent.

When you re-enable the agent, the agent singer change to your current id.

True, but I use a signing ID to do this, so it doesn’t make much difference to us. Same ID both times.

Do you have enabled agents in your template? I think enabling them programatically might be a cleaner design and probably less problems.

Go to agent properties, press the Shedule button, then enable ‘Start running on this date’ and fill in a date value in the future.
