A few questions :)

As per the title:

  1. Can you use teamrooms with Inotes client ?

  2. Can a same server run router, LDAP etc … and Sametime ?

  3. Is it possible to populate an empty win 2003 active directory with the domino directory ?

  4. Any reason an explicit policy would only work if i create a new user, but not if i manually apply it to an existing user ?

Thanks for your time

Hi,

The answer:

  1. Can you use teamrooms with Inotes client ?

Hmmmmm. TeamRoom is an application, you can access it with the browser. Now iNotes is access to your e-mail using a broser. Both, TeamRoom & e-mail can be accessed by a broswer. You don’t need a notes client to access them. If you are asking about working offline, it’s also possible, but it needs some design work (TeamRoom ), or the e-mail can work offline without any work.

  1. Can a same server run router, LDAP etc … and Sametime ?

Yes, but Sametime must be in a different install, Sub-System, like domino00 & domino01.

  1. Is it possible to populate an empty win 2003 active directory with the domino directory ?

Yes, can be done but the contrary will be a better idea. But the server must be on a windows environment, not iSeries

  1. Any reason an explicit policy would only work if i create a new user, but not if i manually apply it to an existing user ?

No, a policy can be applied any time you want.

HTH,

Daniel

Great, thanks for your responses

I would just like some more infos about 2)(Sametime). Basically this mean you have to have 2 domino installs on thesame server, correct ?

Subject: RE: A few questions

Not sure if you got a response or not.

You can install it on the same server - domino/sametime/ldap etc.

But I would recommend against it. Sametime isn’t the most stable of products and you might (due ot memory leaks - not crashing) have to reboot the server monthy or so.

As a result, if you install Sametime on a different domino partition, you can stop and restart that partition without affecting your mail/ldap partition …
