A few Admin questions

Hi couple of questions with Domino 8.5.1

Originally my users were using the Notes clients and now due operating systems reinstalled etc everyone is using web access even me.

  1. I’m concerned about notes id’s and the server id and admin id expiring do I need to reissue/certify these?

Will they expire and lock me out? I have vague memories of setting a certificate date when I installed several years back.

  1. I’m getting spam to a particular address that has a generic name (used internally)

I recall when the same happened a while back on another address I blocked mail incoming at the smtp level to hopefully reduce it from being any more load on the server.

I forgot where that option is. What is the best way of administratively doing this? I’m using the web access as admin to view my names.nsf/server document and cannot find it.

  1. If this gets worse are there any decent antispam that work with notes 8.5.1 I’ll need to run it on the same server? What are my options.

Consider me a novice in your reply thanks.

Yes. Refer to the following topics within the Lotus Administrator Help Database:

    1. Maintaining Notes users → Recertifying a user ID
    2. Managing Servers → Recertifying a server ID

Refer to the topic, "Restricting users from receiving Internet mail" within the Lotus Administrator Help Database.

There are many options to consider from 3rd party products to leveraging functionality of the Domino Server. To get started, have a look at the following TechNote and consider implementing Blacklists (see Lotus Administrator Help Database for information on Blacklists):
