A couple of questions: Clocks & Replication

Hi folks,

We recently upgraded to Domino 6.5.1 (servers and clients) I could do with some help with two annoying things:

  1. Does anybody have a problem with the time settings in Notes? Although our Linux and Domino servers display the correct time, our Notes clients are an hour in front. We have restarted the servers in the hope that it was daylight saving time that was causing the problem. Its strange though. Any ideas? Anyone else with the same problem?

  2. Since changing servers, we have had trouble with replication. For example, somebody with a laptop is working from home and reads his/her email then moves it to another folder. He/she then starts replication to get the mail, Notes will ignore any changes made offline (i.e. the emails that were read become unread, and any moved mailed is put back in the inbox) We did not have this problem with the older server. Any ideas?

Thanks for any help!

See here. Your questions 1 and 2 may be related – it is not clear. If you can fix 1, then 2 might go away.

Check these entries in the server’s NOTES.INI:Timezone=5

DST=1

DSTLaw=4,1,1,10,-1,1

Also, are the clients observing DST? Do they use OS time?

If you find entries like these in NOTES.INI, try removing them. On Windows, Notes and Domino should use the operating system’s settings. Conflicting settings in NOTES.INI can cause problems.

Subject: Also make sure that if they are switching locations, that all locations have same Time settings.

Advanced Basics

Use operating system’s time zone settings:
