802 Std client ALMOST opens periodically

I have a couple of test 802 Std clients that are having the same intermittent issue. Upon executing the client, the splash screen will show up for a good minute or so (HD light is chugging along) and then just disappears. We then execute the program again and it snaps up on the screen almost like it was maximized from the taskbar. Normal pattern on these two machines is about a 10-12 second load time. Both user logons have admin rights on these WinXP machines running McAfee AV 8.5 with the anti-spyware module loaded.Does anyone have any ideas?

You should first look at McAfee, as VSE 8.5 is NOT supported with Notes 8:

Try removing/disabling McAfee.
