I just found out that a designer updated a design on a R5 database with 8.5. My quesiton is how will that affect me when I go back to the r5 designer to update that same form or do I have to use 8.5?

I’ve been in the situation where I have (deliberately) used both Designer 5 and Designer 8.5 on the same database. I took the precaution of using NS5 as the file extension to avoid issues with ODS. Assuming you can still open the database in Designer 5, you should still be able to work with it. You will see a few extra design elements (e.g. plugin.xml) that you can just ignore

Will the functionality that was put into the database from 8.5 still be there if I save it in 5?
