I’ve seen the same behavior with the Windows client as well so it’s not confined to the Linux client.
My client only keeps one Sametime Geographic Location.
Once I arrive at the office for example it will prompt me for my location.
I can enter details for the office location and klik apply/ok, and for the duration of the client session it will use this location, however once I restart the client this location is no longer visible in the Sametime geographic location preferences.
This is not the issue where it keeps prompting for location whenever you make a connection using a VPN.
In this case the MAC address remains the same between sessions, it just flat out refuses to store the location information - without presenting me with any errors.
Anyone else seen this behaviour, and more importantly, anyone know how to fix this?
Subject: Have the exact same issue, very interested in any info?
Seems to have started after upgrading to Notes 8.5.1. We have mostly Windows XP PRO SP3 computers running 8.5.1 Standard clients. (fyi: same experience on Windows 7 x64 computers)
The mail and Sametime servers are all Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (32 bit) with Domino 8.5.1.
Subject: Installed Sametime 8.5 integrated Client; seems to be fixed
Hi -
I downloaded the Sametime 8.5 clients (CZA6MML) and manually installed the update for the integrated client from the “sametimeclient.for.notes” folder and this appears to have fixed any issue I had with Geographic Location in Notes 8.5.1.
