8.1.5 Client Update & Toolbars

I installed the 8.5.1 designer/admin/client over the 8.5 client and are having major problems with the tool bar. It seems that all toolbars are visible regardless of current context. They also ‘bounce’ around quite a bit.

I am also frequently getting the following error message: An internal error occured during: “initPalleteStartJob”.

When launching into the designer client from the regular client, the toobar in the regular client vanishes. Clicking into the void where the toll bar icons should be throws a ‘null’ error message.

Is anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Could you give us trace-log*.xml files in \Data\workspace\logs dir ?

I removed extra jar files from the jvm/lib/ext diretory and the tool bars are working fine now.

Hi I have similar problems with mine too. What were the extra jar files you removed?

I have none of the files you listed in my jvm\lib\ext folder… mine are as follows…

Do you have these files in yours?

Subject: Try This

Remove all of your ‘extra’ jar files and see if your tool bar issue is resoleved.

I removed all jar files from the ext folder and I couldn’t even start Notes. So I put Notes.jar & websvc.jar back and Notes still wouldn’t launch. In the end I copied back all the jar files begin with ibm* along with Notes.jar & websvc.jar and it seems to be okay now. Cheers.
