I recently upgraded to Domino 8.0.2 on Win 2k8 server (unsupported platform, I know… but not sure why yet). We use postini as an external spam filter. Basically, our MX records point to Postini’s servers and then Postini routes mails to our server.
Upon starting up the server, no mail was being received from the outside. Every other function of the server works. We are able to send/receive mail within the domino domain. We are able to send mail to the outside world. Within the Postini web interface, we are able to push e-mails caught up in the SPAM filter through and deliver to the user’s inbox on the server. So this tells me that SMTP is listening and able to communicate. We just were unable to receive an e-mail stream.
All logic from that points to Postini being the problem. However, after some time of trying different settings within Postini and ensuring the spool was on within Postini, we decided to roll back to Domino 6.5.4FP2. Once we did that, everything was working fine again. So I’m still unsure of what’s going on. Is there simply a setting I missed in the new Domino perhaps?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated… thanks!
