6 meeting invitations in R5 client

Hi,

I have migrated a handful of users to Notes 6 as a testing/pilot group. The server is still 5.0.8, and so are most of the clients.

Everything is working quite well, except for one 5.08 user:

When he receives a meeting request from a 6 client, it arrives as a normal email - there is no accept or reject options.

When he receives a meeting request from another 5 client, it works properly.

Since he’s the only one with this problem, I am assuming it’s something on his end, but I’m not sure what it might be.

Any ideas?

thanks,

Dan

Does this person prefer MIME in server directory is is ND6 user sending direct to internet? In these cases the ND6 code sends the invitation in MIME format ( text/plain, text/html, text/calendar (iCalendar). The R5 router can not process the iCal, so the invitee would see the HTML rendering of the invitation with an iCalendar attachment.

OK, I just checked, and the user is set to ‘Prefers MIME’ for incoming mail.

So, I’m guessing that changing this to either “No Preference” or “Prefers Notes Rich Text” will fix this?

I still don’t understand why this happens, since I’m sending this to a local Notes user, not to an Internet user. I guess this iCal is a new technology for 6?

thanks,

Dan

I would use “No Preference”. Yes this will fix the problem.
