I copy a R5 mail file to a R6.5 server. I refresh the mail file using the 6.5 template. It doesn’t work quite right. No errors, but the left side of the mail frameset isn’t correct. I’ve tried this on 4 different mail files.
I have a R5 mail file on a R5 server. I refresh the mail file using the same R6.5 template. All works well.
Any ideas?

We’ve been experiencing similar issues in a 6.5 pilot. What I’ve found that has minimized the problem is:1)Full Administrative Access of the server
2)Shut down the Administrative Client after a design refresh
Not sure if it is that the admin client is saying the design is complete and behind the scenes it’s not, or if the shutdown clears some cached views, but give it a try and let me know if it helped?:-jmw

Actually, I’m doing the refresh from the Notes Client, not the Admin client. But, I did try to shut Notes down totally after the refresh and still experienced the problem.
I did find that Ian’s suggestion worked, though. It only worked once I deleted the bookmark.nsf, so I’m not sure if deleting the cache.ndk is also necessary.

I’ve seen this quite a lot on our R6 rollout. Deleting the users cache.dsk (or cache.ndk as it now is)seems to fix it. Although in a few cases I’ve had to delete the bookmarks.nsf and create a new one.We rolled out R6 via an SMS package and we’ve modified this to delete any cache file during the install.
