Windows Server 2003 SP1 currently running 6.5.4, all seems well.
Downloaded 6.5.5 from Passport Advantage and it installed fine on a fresh test W2K3 box.
Attempted to upgrade my production 6.5.4 server and the setup.exe just hangs and does nothing… sits in Windows Task Manager consuming zero CPU forever until I manually kill it. Even the mouse pointer hourglass after running the installer disappears and goes back to plain arrow. Everything else on the machine is running fine. Even tried a fresh reboot, no change.
Domino 6.5.4 still starts up and runs fine on this box.
Anybody else having issues with the 6.5.5 installer refusing to start up?
I have seen similar on Win2000 SP4 with other setups. We had similar issues with 6.5.4 upgrade.
Are you accessing the box through tivoli software or terminal services or are you directly on the box?
What we saw with ours was we ran setup and nothing happened as you have said. It also showed in the Task Manager with no CPU activity. However on one box we left it over night and all of a sudden the next morning it came up. If we ran setup a couple of times (when frustrated… I double click a few more times) multiple setups would load so each one was eventually starting but it was taking hours for them to kick off.
We never had the problem on 2003 server though so we were thinking it may be a problem with terminal services or accessing through tivoli as the problem seemed less likely to occur when we accessed the box directly.
