6.5.1 on RH7.3 - 2.4.20-19.7?

Can anybody please tell me, if it’s possibleto run 6.5.1 on the RH 7.3?

As I’m not shure regarding the lib , compat lib and so on …depencies, it would be

very helpful, to know, which libs and versions are essential for 6.5.*

My current configuration is:

  • Plain RH 7.3 installation with Ensim WEBppliance Pro 3.5.21-10 ( Ensim needs currently this version )

  • kernel 2.4.20-19.7 , i686 unknown

  • single cpu system ( celeron 1.4 )

  • and this packages are installed :

j2sdk-1.4.0-fcs

compat-libstdc+±6.2-2.9.0.16

libstdc+±devel-2.96-113

libtermcap-devel-2.0.8-28

According to the release notes RH7.3 is not supported. Even supported linux platforms are difficult enough, so my point of view would be: don’t.

6.5.1 works on RH 7.3 though the release notes reports it is not supported!!!

Packagewise I don’t have the same as you. I have the 2.4.20-18.7 kernel. My glibc is at 2.2.5-43 and I don’t have j2sdk installed.

I just went basic and did not really updated any RPMS because this is not connected to the internet.
