The notes 5 client is already installed on each server in a citrix farm. I installed Notes 6.01 on one server to a different directory M:\Lotus6. The next citrix server in which I attempted to install the client gives the message Error 1324, the path program files contains an invalid character. This happens immediately when the installer starts and it is searching for installed applications. When I accept the OK option it declares the installer was interupted and it exits with finish. Please advise. The citrix servers are windows 2000 servers.
Subject: 1324 The path program files contains an invalid character
I have come across the same error. It was when a WinXP Client had a bad install and the E:\ was the root directory. I had to map a C:\ drive and was then able to install. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by map to c:\ drive? Can you be more specific? I have no e drive mapped on my PC which has the same error.

I had the same problem after I did a re-install of Win XP. It made the boot drive F. My C drive eneded up been one of the removeable drives on my card reader. After having installed v6.0.3 I could not get Notes to install a later version. I tried 6.5.4 and version 7.
I there download Virtual Drive Creator. I disconnected my internal card reader and when the machine came up I created a virtual C drive. I then tried intalling version 7 and it went through without a problem.
Basically you need a c:\ drive that can be written too.
Hope this helps someone else.
